But She Was Still Hungry…

Natalie was (of course) The Very Hungry Naterpillar today.

Jen’s school celebrates Halloween (mine doesn’t), so she dressed as a leaf, complete with mini caterpillar to keep her company until Natalie arrived.

I went as me, ’cause I’m just boring like that.

Happy Halloween!

  1. What a beautiful happy babe! Oh – and a nice leaf, also.
    Happy Halloween!

  2. Oh Jen, I LOVE your costume! Creative yet comfy. My kind of costume. And of course Natalie is adorable as ever.

(PS- A beer in the blah corner on Sat. sounds good, Jen.)

  3. Adorable!

I especially like the very skeptical little witch in the leaf picture.

  4. CUTE!!!
    very clever

  5. I think I just had a heart attack from all the cuteness!

  6. Why am I not surprised that the two of you dressed your daughter as a character from a book?

(I got me some class, too — my costume first appeared onstage during The Tempest at the Shakespeare Theater.)

  7. fantastic!!!

  8. LOVE LOVE LOVE the girl!

And dfid you make that leaf all by your self? It’s FABOO!

  9. That is awesome – comfy and creative is the best kind. I took nun this year purely out of concern for comfort.

My school used to have a policy that everyone had to dress as book characters but eventually it turned into kids deciding what they wanted to be and then coming to me and going, “I need a book with a witch in it…?!” And me tearing out my hair because it was the last thing I wanted to be doing, finding books for dozens of teachers and students to carry around even though the book meant nothing to them. So I got that policy banished. It was a nice thought, though.

  10. Is Natalie always such a happy baby? It seem that every picture she’s smiling so hard she’s about to pop! My son is generally a pretty happy baby, but it is impossible to get him to smile for the camera!

  11. Beth Anne, Natalie totally poses for the camera now. We pull it out and she immediately turns toward the camera with a huge grin.

She is generally a pretty happy kid, though. I have a feeling we’re going to pay for it when she hits her teens. Or maybe even her twos. 🙂

  12. What a brilliant Naterpillar! 🙂 I wish we’d have been as creative, maybe next year… Our little devil seemed to hate his outfit, so we’ll need to come up with something more babyfriendly for his next fancy dress party. I wouldn’t even attempt to recreate your magnificent caterpillar outfit, even though the idea is tempting! 🙂

  13. Awesome, AWESOME costume!! That really needs to be in a magazine contest or something.

Cait, whenever we don’t dress up for Hallowe’en, we tell people, “we’re serial killers. We look just like everybody else.” Strangely, that doesn’t seem to net us any candy…

  14. How positively adorable! I’m so jealous of you creative types!
